The artist has given the complete sum of his £25k honor cash to the Music Venues Trust, which works to preserve the Britain's small concert spaces.

He was presented with the prize on October 16 as his latest record the album was chosen as the outstanding release of the past year.

Fender has chosen to hand the money over to the MVT, in appreciation of the essential function local spots fulfilled in his early career.

"I personally couldn't be pursuing this success if it hadn't been for all the performances I played around the region, and further afield, when I was beginning," remarked Fender. "These locations are iconic, but they are facing challenges."

Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these spaces have shut down – approximately one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.

Recently, well-known musicians such as the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by adding a modest fee to their admission fees, which goes to help local stages.

Fender also participated, collecting more than £100,000 on his recent tour to help numerous grassroots venues across Britain.

The donation helped venues that were dealing with potential shutdown due to difficulties arising from water damage, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and sound issues.

Other venues obtained funding support in modernizing infrastructure and technical equipment that positively impacted musicians and fans.

"The concept that money from shows in major spaces supports the local stages, where it all starts for musicians like me, is just sensible," Fender has stated.

Previously, Ezra Collective donated their prize money to the community center that developed their band, as well as other independent music bodies.

Also the 1994 recipients they gave their award to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was identified with the disease.

"The victory was sufficient," remarked singer the singer. "The money was the bonus but we could do without the bonus, because we had the cake. So our success impacted another person's life."

Last week, the Music Venues Trust revealed it had rescued several small stages in south-east England, by transferring them to public stewardship.

The Joiners in the city and The Croft in that location were acquired under the Own Our Venues initiative, which is funded by Arts Council England and music fans who buy "shares" in the venues.
